65 YEAR OLD PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED   KILLED IN BIBIANI

A 65 year old woman and a hunchback have been killed in Bibiani, in the Western Region. It is believed that the deceased was murdered for spiritual purposes. Five alleged killers of the victim have since been remanded by a circuit court in Sekondi. The accused persons have been charged with murder and have therefore been refused bail whilst the case proceeds.

To cover up any evidence against the evil act, the suspects are alleged to have attempted to kill an accomplice of victim, a supposed witness to the murder.
In Ghana and various parts of Africa it is believed that the hump behind hunchbacks have some mystical powers.

They have therefore been victims of ritual murders. Medical research has however proved that hunchbacks suffer from kyphosis a common condition of a curvature of the upper spine. Kyphosis has been found to be the result of bad posture or a structural muscular abnormality in the spine. According to the Wikipedia online dictionary, in the sense of a deformity, “kyphosis is the pathological curving of the spine, where parts of the spinal column lose some or all of their lordotic profile.

This causes a bowing of the back as a slouching posture”. This revelation demystifies the traditional notion that the humps behind hunchbacks contain any mystical powers.
The Ghana Federation of the Disabled condemns the ritual killing of hunchbacks and urges the government to severely deal with the perpetrators of such evil acts.
