Ghana National Association of the Deaf- Youth Wing (GNAD-YW) has held its first national executive forum at the Head Office of the Association, in Accra. The forum which was held on 15th august, 2009 saw in its attendance all the national executives, regional presidents and representatives.
Among other things the gathering was intended to evaluate the annual report of the wing. The meeting also provided a platform for the regional branches and their representatives to find solutions to the challenges of the youth wing.
In his address, the president of the Wing- Mr. Benjamin Bekoe explained a number of issues and advised the regional leaders who are yet to establish their youth wings to do so with immediate effect. Among the immediate goals that the wing hoped to achieve are; dangers associated with sexually transmitted diseases especially the HIV/AIDS menace; ICT Programmes, regular regional monitoring visits to Deaf Schools.
The participants agreed to holds annual general meeting in Kumasi in the Ashanti region.
