Ghana Federation of the Disabled (GFD) wishes to announce its search for an Advocacy/Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. The position will be on contract for a period of one (1) year with the possibility of extension upon satisfactory performance. The Officer will be responsible to the GFD in the discharge of his/her duties through the Executive Director.
The Position involves the following tasks:
- Facilitating the implementation of the GFD advocacy strategy at the national and local levels
- Planning and developing a database for evidence based advocacy as well as monitoring of the DANIDA funded project
- Provide technical support to the GFD advocacy committees nationally and locally
- Develop effective monitoring systems, and provide technical support to the M & E committees nationally and locally
- Provide technical support to project and outreach districts in the implementation of Local Development Fund (LDF) project.
Qualifications:
The ideal person must
- Have a degree in the Social Sciences or related relevant experiences
- Have at least 3 years proven work experience in advocacy and M&E
- Be well organized and able to establish systematic documentation for the M&E system.
- Have relevant skills in IT, in particularly in planning, developing and administering databases.
- Have a fair knowledge of disability issues
- Be gender sensitive
- Be energetic, team player and ready to work for longer hours, with minimum or no supervision
- Be ready to travel extensively
