| GFD PRESIDENT WELCOME ADRESS AT THE LAUNCH OF THE 2ND PHASE OF THE STRENGTHENING THE DISABILITY MOVMENT IN GHANA PROJECT 7th JANUARY 2010……BY MR SAMUEL ASARE |
Distinguish guests, NCSC Delegation, Ladies and Gentle men gathered here this morning you are most welcome to the second phase of the DANIDA sponsored project STRENGTHENING THE DISABILITY MOVMENT IN GHANA.
This pioneer project aims at strengthening the disability movement in Ghana through building the advocacy and organisational capacity of the movement.
The first phase of the project in the three pilot districts, namely Ho, Birim South and manya Krobo, has taught the Federation some useful lessons which shall be replicated in eight selected districts, during the next phase.
It must be noted that the first phase focus mostly on the development of various organizational development frameworks and guidelines as well as a comprehensive advocacy strategy.
It is expected that the next phase shall see the implementation of those strategies and guidelines which were developed under the first phase.
I wish to take this opportunity to thank DANIDA and all our Danish Partners for this initiative which will go a long way in STRENGTHENING THE DISABILITY MOVMENT IN GHANA.
Thank you and God Bless you All.
