The leadership of the Federation will visit His Excellency Prof. J. E. A. Mill, President of the Republic of Ghana on Thursday, 5 February, 2009 at 9:00am at the Castle, Osu, Accra.
The purpose of the visit is to congratulate him for his new office as President of Ghana and discuss other disability related issues especially with regard to the implementation of Persons with Disability Act, 715.
Other issues to be touched on will include the appointment of competent Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) unto Metropolitan/Municipal and District Assembly committees and other National positions, etc.
The delegation from the Federation will comprise representatives of the Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPWDs), representatives of the Ghana Disability Network – Action on Disability and Development, Voluntary Service Overseas, and Network of Journalist for the Promotion of Rights of PWDs.
