The Convention People Party (CPP) has launched a brail version of its manifesto for the December 2008 General Election. Launching the Manifesto on Monday 1st September 2008, at the Coconut Grove Hotel in Accra, the presidential aspirant of the party Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom pledged a free and compulsory education for children with disability from the basic to the High School level.
The president of the Ghana Association for the Blind (GAB), Mr yaw Ofori Debrah praised the CPP for its innovation and stressed that since independence no Ghanaian political party has ever included persons with disabilities in its manifesto. Mr Debrah took the opportunity to urge all the other parties to translate their manifestos into brail and sign language.
