The Ghana Society for the Physically Disabled (GSPD) has organized a one day seminar to sensitize its members on the procedures for the 2008 General Elections. The GSPD use the occasion to appeal to the Electoral Commission (EC) to carry out an all inclusive election that would ensure that the physically disabled get the opportunity to exercise their franchise. The president of the society voiced out the concern that persons with disabilities do not have adequate access to education, employment and the opportunity to participate in politics.

The electoral officer for the Ho district, Mr John Akafia, assured the disabled community that the EC respect the rights of all persons and will therefore provide the opportunity for all registered Ghanaian voters to cast their vote.
